Missionview Saddle Club is a non profit gymkhana club that meets the first Saturday or Sunday of every month for lots of fun and friendly competition. We have age groups for lead line, 10 & under, 11-14 years old, 15-24 years old, and 25 and older. Barrels are offered every month with three other events to follow. Missionview Saddle Club of Tucson originated in 1957. It was initially established as a saddle club involved in trail riding and parades. Is is the longest active saddle club in the Tucson area. In 1963 Missionview became a gymkhana club. It held its first gymkhana's at the Holiday Isle Mobile Home Park on Ajo Way. One of Missionview's charter members and his family are still active in the club today, as are three other long-time MVSC families. Missionview is a non-profit, family oriented association, with emphasis on gymkhanas for riders of all ages. But most importantly on youngsters assisting them in learning to ride in a friendly atmosphere, and at the same time helping to create interest and instill confidence and direction in their riding development.
At the beginning of each year each person has the opportunity to become a member of Missionview Saddle Club. A small fee is required. Each member will receive points when they ride within their age group and at the end of the year awards will be giving out to those who qualify. Members also have a chance to vote on important decisions such as who they would like their officers to be.
